John Cisney

 

Bio

John was born in Flint, Michigan, and grew up in Racine, Wisconsin. He attended Beloit College in Wisconsin, and the School of Visual Arts in New York. As a child, he was fascinated by nature, and the shape and texture of things.

In addition to his formal studies in art at the post-graduate level, he has studied and lived with the Quakers, been a Zen Monk, lived in Japan, worked in Alaska, and led a self-sufficient life on a small farm in Wisconsin. He currently lives in St. Paul, where he gardens, fishes, and raises chickens.
